…don’t want to watch the video.
I just want to pretend it’s about how Barry Gibb didn’t have a monkey on his back, but thought Donkey Kong was a pain in the neck.
15 Lies? That’s alot. Here goes:
1. Life is Not a Popularity Contest
2. It’s for your own good.
3. LSD will make you hear color & see sound.
4. Cannabis makes males develop female breasts.
5. “You’re too smart” to take shop classes.
6. “C’mon, it’ll be fun.”
7. Symbols like the peace one, Zeppelin runes, the freakin’ Star of David, & others a kid might draw on their notebook were supposedly signs of satan-worship. (public school)
8. 6th grade teachers told us that after elementary school ended, we would no longer be able to use pencils.(?!?!?!?)
9. The oil from human skin could destroy an old-style mouse if you touched the rubber ball.

@Jear77
Yeah, & it’s a crappy way to teach notation.
They came up with that nonsense instead of telling kids it’s A-thru-G over and over, & here’s where the A’s are.
1. Russia was going to bomb us with a nuclear bomb.
2. Dropping to the floor and rolling under our wooden desks with our fingers covering the back of our necks will protect us from a nuclear blast.
3. Wrapping one’s self in aluminum foil — head to toe — will keep us from being cooked in a nuclear bomb blast. (Well, at best, when you are found by those who will inspect the resulting damage, you will already be wrapped up like a baked potato.)
4. Everyone loved President John F. Kennedy. (Obviously someone didn’t)
5. You won’t have a calculator after high school —– then told the same for after college.
6. If you don’t wear lipstick and eye liner, you won’t be popular.
7. Because you ran the school Driver’s Training car through the plate glass window of the flower shop and put the Coach Levi in the hospital, you will never learn to drive a car.
8. Teasing your hair will make it fall out.
9. Long pants will never be acceptable school attire.
10. If you swallow chewing gum, it will stay in your stomach and collect there.
11. Drinking coffee will stunt your growth.
12. Masturbation causes pimples.
13. Potato chips cause pimples.
14. You will not be allowed in to the prom if you arrive with two prom dates. (But, I did and they allowed us in.)
15. You MUST know geometry, for your adult life. (Yet, I don’t use it in my adult life)
@Jear77 I have to add to the list that no one has asked me to find the hypotenuse of a triangle, nor name all of the Presidents, or recite the Preamble. We were told that we could not graduate unless we knew all these things. They were to prepare us for adulthood.
I don’t know that they were so much lies as they were other’s perception of the Universe. I attended Catholic Schools and was taught to believe that God is a person that lives in the sky. I was not exposed to other schools of thought, such as The Big Bang Theory. Religion was a class and part if the core curriculum that I took every day for twelve years.
School itself is a social construct, so in effect, we could cal it a lie, or just call it a way of perceiving the world.
and this is for @mamajoy and @eric, have you been getting any concerns about the site? For a while now part of my page is blocked, disallowing me from starting any conversations.

@luftballooneyegouge
So there are no notes of
E
G
B
D OR
F
in the musical scale?
What instrument are you playing?
@Jear77
It’s not about the scale it’s about the boys with walnut and or cocoa allergies.
I try to play the typical rock’n’roll instruments. I’ve got drums, guitars, keys, a bass, and some very dusty valveless horns.
@luftballooneyegouge you didn’t say that. The mnemonic is only for music, not real life.

@ladybarbara did you watch the video?
@Jear77 Yes. I watched the video. I agree with the video points.
