Over the past 15 seasons, Ellen has met many people who do good in the world, and these are just some of them. Take a look back at these everyday heroes who have helped make the world a better place.

you wouldn’t believe how difficult it is to care, to feel anymore with all the tragedies. One hurricane comes through then another. Earthquakes, floods, fires, the homeless in your own neighborhood. And while each of these things is important to be cognizant about… if you can’t even put a roof over your head… of what use is it?

These things have been a part of life since before we kept records. We are still around, and blessed with people who still care. So there must be a solution that counters despondency and despair.
I think our post-modern society stumbles far more on this than past societies have, because we are very prone to victimhood and persecution thinking — riding high on a wave of feelings owning us rather than us owning them.
Have them, yes. But if they are the leading cause of our despondency and despair, cynicism and defeatism, learn ways to better manage them — not be “pwned” by them.
People have been doing this successfully since before the dawn of the written record.
This is a wonderful post and it brought tears to my eyes. Ellen is such a good person.
