Beautiful strangers?

Do you find strangers more beautiful or scary? What is it about someone that makes you feel, I want to know them…

Given the question is asked and an option isn’t offered suggesting both; I will choose beautiful.

It nanoseconds you can learn something about a total stranger that makes them beautiful.

Example. Today I noticed that a waitress at our lunch table had a tattoo on her forewarm that I just missed getting a good view of. When she came back I asked to see it. She went from shy to animated when I asked her to explain it. It was a small elephant being led by a big elephant; tail to trunk.

She was the little elephant. The big one was her grandfather who has had an influence on her life and actually went with her to get it done. She went on to talk about how much she loved him. After that brief encounter there was nothing but a positive vibe to every subsequent interaction.

It was a wonderful moment that could easily have been missed without gambling on a response for an interaction.

a wonderful story and encounter! I like noticing the strangers nuances. I really have gone to noticing the shapes of their bodies, the color of their hair, moreso than their eyes and smiles.
I think about all tbe people in the backgrounds of pictures. I think about the people that cross our paths only once. Sharing that brief blip in space time, will it be good or will it be bad?

I choose beautiful. I can be a shallow creature who is often distracted by shiny things. But what makes me feel the interest in knowing someone is ultimately their personality. Someone’s wit, humor, or intelligence will usually catch my attention right away.

It seems like as I’ve gotten older, what I notice about people has changed, or maybe I always want what I don’t have. I wanted to be around intelligent people, and I did that. Now, I want to wonder…
      I miss wonder…
      I miss the veil…

I find the friends I left behind in California a grab-bag of beautiful and the few who were disgruntled by my selling of my house, turned so nasty that I built up a wall and omitted them from my life. The beautiful friends are still friends. We keep in touch on facebook. The Baha’is that did not like the idea of my living with Immortal Pirate without marrying him, well, they got left behind and are now only in my past.

The Baha’is here in Arizona are beautiful. I have so much more in common with them. They are positive and are Trump-supporters. They have guns and invited me to go to the shooting range with them. Being with them is being in a room full of good friends. I like it when the people I surround myself with are positive and look on the bright side of topics. I feel welcome.

There is a waiter at the local Denny’s that is so happy and personable. Even when I feel down, he brings my spirits back up. He is a shining star of life. He reminds me of one of my nephews that I left behind in California. He also reminds me of one of my stepsons who works at a fire department here in Arizona. My stepson could come rescue you out of a crushed and burning car —- with a happy smile and a, “We have the jaws-of-life tool here and we will get you right out of here to safety.” He always has a friendly disposition. Well, this waiter is like that. He is always happy to get us what we need and never screws up an order. He does it all with a bright smile. So, we always tip him 50% of the bill. It is people like that who are the angels of life. They are a blessing to have around me.

Got to say neither because I do not engage strangers. I am not one of those who needs more friends or acquaintances, I’m good where I’m at.

People disappoint. And I am through wasting my time with people – friends or strangers – who disappoint me time and time again. My close friends, there are few, do not disappoint.

  5. I am like a bat, for the kinds that have poor eye sight and rely on echo location. I don’t see people by their physical appearance or even by their superficial non-physical appearance. So, I am naturally curious about everyone.

If something is brought up or comes up indirectly which I have some knowledge on, I might have some prying to do.

Kind of conversational sending out bat sound waves, to see responses, and send out more, get additional responses. Until I am satisfied.

I am absurdly bizarre and alien, and have had an absurdly bizarre and alien life, full of really exciting and incredible – impossible things. Yet, conversely, I am also extremely mundane. I have no facebook, generally stay mute on the professional social media I do belong to, and, again, do not socialize, or try and be anybody but “someone behind the scenes”. I have no desire for being known, nor any desire for even the most extraordinary things I have experienced and know to be well known.

I seem to be remarkable or unusual enough looking and acting, even on a minor level, so that clerks always remember me, even if I have not seen them for months and I know they deal with a lot of people.

If I open my mouth, for long, as I do here, I certainly start to stand out. But, even in places like this, probably one reason I throw out so many words is specifically to bore people to tears.

I put an enormous amount of time and energy to blend in and be as small as possible, that is.

All that said, I am wary of others like myself, and when I start to detect they may be, obviously, that gets my buzzer going.

A spy can tell another spy, an undercover agent can tell an another undercover agent. A mafioso can tell another mafioso. Everyone else always gets it wrong.

Though, around such groups, such as I do find at professional conventions, I do find people who have secrets read me as someone who has way more secrets, and typically seem to set off a lot of alarm bells. So, lol, they avoid me.

Sometimes neither I guess. It’s not common for me to notice strangers because no action stands out often. We kind of just go about our days drifting.

To honor Christ’s teachings, I have to see everyone as a “divine image-bearer” (we’re all “created in God’s image”).

    And that’s beautiful!

I’m reminded just how many of the people have have become enduring friends in my life . . . were not “instantly attractive”. I actually had misgivings about all of them; and many of them about me.

Whereas all of the people I was instantly attracted to have gone by the wayside and almost never heard from again!

i feel like an antisocial weirdo sometimes, but a short conversation with a stranger can be as meaningful as a long one with an acquaintance.
