This question reminds me of a short story…
Griz, Jear, and I were traveling the back roads of America on tour to advertise for Soulsequel website. We came upon a sheep with it’s head stuck in a fence, The animal was clearly trapped and need assistance to get free.
Griz commented, I wish the sheep was a blonde…
I said, I wish the sheep was a redhead…
and Jear said, I wish it was dark out and you guys weren’t here…

The question is rhetorical. Really, do androids dream.
We dream because we are made in the image of God, who is The Dreamer.
But, hypothetical androids would be made in our image… and we are not God. So, we would not impart the ability to dream.
We would make them killers, sex slaves, work horse drones. And, so see our own fallen nature. Exactly as the original film from the story posited.
