This is the song that Justin Johnson recorded on the guitar that I built and sent to him. Right out of the box, using the tuning I had on the guitar, Justin brought this instrument to life.
Which is quite the opposite of the song of the worshipers of the ‘beast’, ‘who is like the beast, who can make war with it’. As they worship nations, and the world.
But, otherwise, top on my list is: Five to One, by Jim Morrison.
This is where I get my nick. (And, it is also the numeric prefix of the city I grew up in.)
What does it mean… what does it mean…
John Densmore asked Jim Morrison what does “five to one” means, and Jim replied, “For me to know, and you to find out”.
But, beyond the numeric code… it means that the world is ending, and he is taking part in that. That he is going to go away again, just for a little while. To carve some people up.
That it is a showdown. An image of five people against one, and one person taking the many out, but him also being taken out while doing so.
It is not meant literally, in that sense. It evoked the imagery of this sort of western shootout, or fight to the death, where you are outnumbered, but will take out the rest.
You come to me with a flower in your hand, saying no one understands.
Trading in your hours for a handful of dimes.
There was no choice left, but for him to die. Though, if anyone could dig up his coffin, which they can not, they would not find him, inside.
Otherwise, it is a countdown. Five to one. Five, four, three, two, one.
If one wishes to get all numerology about things. :-)

Significance??? I did not want to be shackled down in my younger years.
Now, I am settled. That lass of my youth is gone and I live the romance I once yearned for. My Pirate and Highlander gives life color and joy.

One of my favorites
Another of my favorite, The Parting Glass…
