God help us. Today in his first speech to the UN, the US pre*ident threatened to wipe out a country of 25 million people; and he called the leader of that country, not by his name; but – Rocket Man. Twitter talk at the UN? Shit, god damn.
I want to take that name back to where it belongs:
In this beautiful video, Iranian filmmaker and refugee Majid Adin reimagines his own interpretation of Elton John’s iconic hit, “Rocket Man” to tell a whole new story of adventure, loneliness and hope.

He’s the “Harley” President.
Making FAR more noise than necessary to get the job done — and trying to say it’s in the name of “safety”! (I always wondered about this quintessential “American tradition”! LOL!)
Then along came the living embodiment thereof!
@griz That’s funny. The Harley prez. Yeah, lot’s of unnecessary noise; but noise that can get us all killed.
@Gina
Well, I’ve wanted to shoot a few Harley drivers who want to exercise their unnecessary noise at night around truckstops! So yea; making more noise than necessary to get the job done can result in others wanting to “bless you with bullets”!
@immortal_pirate This was a really good movie.
@Gina
If the two of you like it, that’s a weighty recommendation.
What’s it called?
@griz August Rush
@griz Robin Williams is in it. Enough said.
@Gina
I saw the trailers, read the reviews. Even grumpy old Rodger Ebert gave it his grudging respect, so that got my attention!
Downloaded it last night. I’m just waiting for a proper span of time to enjoy it.
But my evening intellectual enrichment time is limited. And tonight it’s a toss-up between that and Lost in Space: the Veggie Revolution!
RocketMan
we might start to get twice the fun from 45
