Emerging from the Womb, not the Tomb

I watched this this morning and am amazed by the capacities of some people to inspire. The thing lately, is that I only seem to hear inspirational messages from those of colour, or what appears to be those of alternative lifestyles.

The common denominator is that they fall outside of the parameters of what the status quo of normal is perceived as.

This American is of Sikh descent. She is young and still has that spark of idealism within, coupled with a realism of what her environment, at the moment is.

She is enthusiastic, sad, joyful, reflective and very well spoken. It’s seeing and hearing people like this that give me hope. This site is supposed to be about positivity. I’d like to see more posts that inspire. Have you got anything positive to contribute?

Thank you so much for this. I just shed big human tears. I keep calling us the Phoenix that will rise more beautiful and stronger from the ashes. I love her take, we are in a long labor. Breathe and push with love.

The speakers name is Valarie Kaur. What an amazing young woman. I will be looking into more of her work.

Oh my goodness. This woman is amazing. I am checking out her Kind Words, Quotes section on her website. This one is very fitting for the moment, on forgiveness:

“Your greatest test is whether you can still see the humanity of the people who disagree with you and people who hurt you. For when you are hurt, you will want to hate. But when you hate the ones who hurt you, you become the darkness that haunts your dreams. Love shines a light; love returns us to the path; love makes us brave.”

That is the path Martin Luther King took. I shall too…….

Perhaps the problem of jaded-ness comes when we reach that state of “comfortable” that we at times perversely crave? Those who have “not yet arrived” at this place and put their feet up, carry the idealism and optimism of the race.

It’s a clear case of “what we want” not necessarily being “what we need”.

Here’s an oldie I’ve posted before. It still has a lot of traction.

Well, as fun as impending vascular surgery on my dad can be! I hadn’t realized I’d been absent for so long, but looking back I guess I have. Time flies!

I’m currently near Erie PA awaiting border clearance so I can drop a load in Pickering and be there for the surgery on Fri.

He’s made what the hospital staff call “miraculous” recovery since his stroke the day before Christmas. Here’s to hoping this procedure clears him for more advanced recovery and few more trips around the block!
