What is your good news?
My semester just ended and I have a 4.0. woo hoo. not too shabby for someone who grew up being told they were stupid, and who just two weeks ago was told by someone on this site that my brain was “under powered”. for anyone reading this post, don’t let humans beat you down. what people told you wasn’t true. you can do it!
other good news, I learned I may be able to complete my foundational practicum at my work site. this will save me time and energy.

Impressive. Look past the bullies who may have called your brain under-powered. It’s a casebook bully tactic founded on them trying to somehow rationalize their own sense of mental failure.
My good news. I got a call from a very cool client to come in to consult and potentially quote on what I’m sure will be a mind blowing project that will be filled with creative exercise and hopefully gratification of a job well done when finished.
This client does signature construction work in some of the biggest cities in North America that is stunning. We are potentially doing some work at the new head office. I honestly feel like a kid having the opportunity to potentially work with some total pros.

What people say is just their opinion. And an opinion is like an asshole: everyone has one. And some are better at raising stinks that others!
Congrats on your success! I never doubted that you could accomplish whatever you set your mind to!
My good news is that my truck is in for some long-needed service; and I get two nights at home in my own bed! (Maybe more!).

It’s amazing how one man “without an opinion” (anus!) could be so down-to-earth and practically pragmatic . . . while so many people with a perfectly good and functional anus can be so horrendously full of shit!

That line does blur sometimes.
“In my own bed” these days can just as easily mean my comfy sleeper bed, parked in a different area-code each night!
I know of one trucker who can no longer sleep in “his own bed” at home. He starts out there, but by morning can be found sleeping out in his truck!
Congratulations. You just keep pushing ahead and adding success after success. You have accomplished so much. Don’t let the nay-sayers get you down.
I have no good, nor bad news. The beat goes on and everything is as fine here as it always is. It does look like Immortal Pirate’s daughter has found the love of her life. The guy is balanced and a “Mr. Wonderful”. I knew she would find someone like her father, daughters usually do seek out someone like their Dad. The Christmas season is busy, but it comes with twinkly lights and ginger cookies.

What makes someone the love of anyone’s life? how can you tell?
@Scarlett There comes a time that you look back at all the loves you have loved and one stands out as more outstanding than all others. If you are lucky, you may get two of those in a full lifetime. If you are Spitfire3dc, then you get only one and she outshines any other love, ever. Spitfire 3dc goes for quality over quantity. He sure knows how to pick-em!
In my life, it was my childhood love that lasted 50 years. I saw him through all of his marriages and always defended him, as a best friend should do. We were only together as a married couple for 14 years, but it was a great 14 years. As for Immortal Pirate, his late wife was the love of his life —— married for 31 years. There was no one else like her.
Our loves of our lives have died and we are picking up the scattered pieces and putting together what we each have left. I think the judgement of who was the love of your life is best seen after you have lived and loved and have that shining star of a love to remember with 20/20 hindsight. There is a chemistry that those who knew a great love can see in other couples. You can see that they are just clicking together. I hope, at the end of my life, I can look back on the years and figure that I was lucky enough to have two great loves.
Congratulations!!! For an “under-powered” brain, you sure are doing great! :) You are doing it, and I am proud of you.
Good news? I am having a hard time finding that right now, as my heart is very heavy. Most of my family is in the middle of the Southern Calif fires. An aunt and uncle lost their house, and their horse. :( The rest of the family has not had to evacuate, but they have been warned to be ready.

Oh yeah, I got a raise this week. The largest one I have had in a decade. That’s pretty darn good.
