I saw this on Reddit and didn’t believe it, so I checked and lo and behold, there he was. Number One. First. Top of the heap.

Reddit might be a form of true Democracy. Upvotes are for the people, by the people. You may not necessarily agree with what the masses are saying, and there is the possibility that Russian hackers may try to influence the results, but when you have so many involved in the voting process, the skew is a little more difficult.

It seems to me that we now have the technology to assist our government to know what their constituents want. If someone votes a particular way on an issue, a representative could supply information associated with why they think we might need to reconsider. If I and an overwhelming majority vote yes , or no on an issue that they think should be the opposite, they can explain their reasoning, get a subsequent vote and then cast the vote on the floor in a way that the majority voted.

Pros
People actually have a say on issues versus making one choice every term that you get stuck with until you vote against them like the campaigns influence you to do.

Cons
The majority might be too lazy to actually understand the issues they vote on.
