This isn’t getting a lot of press, so I thought I would share this news with you. Yes, our 45th pulled us out of the Paris Climate Agreement, we are still in the agreement for another 4 years.
Billionaire Michael Bloomberg, former mayor of NYC says he is ready to help foot the bill for the Paris Climate Agreement after President Trump announced his decision to pull the Unites States out of it.
Bloomberg Philanthropies said Friday it will pull together $15 million to “support the operations” of the United Nation’s Framework Convention on Climate Change, the arm of the UN that coordinates the Paris pact.
The $15 million would cover the U.S. share of the convention’s operating budget, according to Bloomberg spokesperson Carl Pope. The money will come from Bloomberg Philanthropies and its partners.
Just in case you are not sure what the Paris Climate Agreement is, here is a little article that explains it in 500 words. 197 countries signed this agreement (even Russia did). Nicaragua and Syria are the only countries that didn’t, and we joined them.

Like it or not, he’s American’s “best foot forward”.

As for the Climate Accord: Trump has long seen “environmental concerns” as standing in the way of his conquest. It’s not surprising he’s taking this pot-shot.
It’s far better to err on the side of caution. If all this environmental concern is bogus our grandchildren can always go back to raping the environment for profit firm in the knowledge that delicate balances won’t be upset.
But if we have the information we do and pretend there’s nothing there so we can continue mortgaging our kids’s future just so we can have a few more bucks in the bank and drive around the corner for pizza and a critical tipping-point in the Earth’s climatic stability comes with our name on it . . . generations will curse our foolishness.
America was like an addict who had to hit rock bottom before they realized they needed to pay attention more. This country got “woke” on November 9, 2016. I believe after a lot of heartache and turmoil, we will rise up and become a better nation; and better stewards to the planet.
I like to think so too. There is a history there of waiting ’till the fat that’s already in the fire . . . hits your in the face . . . before doing something about it. But one of the strengths of America is that she’s always risen to the occasion and come out better for it.
But there was a disconnect: aspects of growth moving too quickly and a lot of people feeling like they were being left behind . . . or that perhaps too much of what has already been proven to work being sacrificed for things of dubious promise.
Unity shatters into “sides”. So “unity” is not going to work for now.
But “the sides” need to learn to better listen to each other; consider each side’s concerns, even if one doesn’t share those concerns. Like it or not, come commitment to each other and compromise is going to have to be made.
Otherwise the nation will continue in a bipartisan tug-of-war until it pulls itself apart. Nothing is more telling in this regard, than “the process” electing a President who is the living breathing epitome of “pulling things apart”.
