1. Civilian society doesn’t have prolific ownership of military grade weapons. An AR-15 is not a military grade weapon, it is quite literally a civilian weapon.
2. Getting a gun is not easier than getting a driver’s license. Look at California, many states are actually discussing not recognizing California drivers licenses because they’re, wait for it, too easy to get.
When you’re done playing fast and loose with the latest liberal comedy central buzz meme, or these stupid kids parading around the country like they know a thing, then maybe we can have a real discussion like adults.

@Weenis To get a driver’s license in California I only had to take a driver’s test with a DMV tester and then the written test and a fee of about $35.00.
To buy a gun, well, the bad guys and crooks on the street in Compton would have sold me a gun for $200.00 the same day I wanted it, with no background check, or pesky tests. Gangsters don’t follow laws. All the laws in the world to stop gun sales will not stop those who beak laws from taking my $200.00 and handing me a Glock.
However, my boyfriend worked for the law as a prison correctional officer, and I have to obey all laws and have conduct that is above board. Immortal Pirate will not have anything to do with anyone who tries to slide by the laws of the state. So my purchase of my little Ruger handgun required a background check that I had to pay for, then gun safety tests that I had to pass. All this before I even got to pick out the gun I wanted. It seemed to take forever (although it was about 3 weeks) for my gun to be sold to me. Then we had to go to a firing range to test it. It did not eject bullets smoothly and had to be sent back to be re-machined. That took another 3 weeks. With the cost of the Ruger and all the fees for background checks and the gun safety tests I had to study for and take, it cost about $1,200.00. From the start of the background check paperwork and fee, until I had my gun in my hand and purchased a good lock box and gun cleaning kit, it took nearly 2 months. Only after I complied with all laws, was I offered an NRA membership. The NRA stresses responsible, law abiding gun ownership. As an NRA member, I had to pay strict attention to all laws regarding gun safety. I took my gun to Arizona to show it to Immortal Pirate. Then ran in to the California gun law that says a gun owner CANNOT bring a gun, nor ammunition, into California from another state. It did not matter that I had purchased my gun in California, it had to stay in Arizona once it crossed the state border. The law is the law. I could not be with my gun until I moved to Arizona. I follow all laws and gun safely rules.
It is easier to get a driver’s license than purchasing and owning a gun.

@Gina I think David Hogg, spoksman for those victims is trying to pass himself off as one of them. He is a crisis actor. He did not go to school in Florida, nor is he a high school student. He graduated in 2015 from Redondo Shores High School in Redondo Beach, California. He wanted to work for CNN. He is an actor. He follows a script. His father worked for the FBI. It is hard to trust what they say when they are hiring actors to taut their cause.

I love the repeating motif amongst Born-Again folk, that for them past responsibility has an expiration date. Republicans that say something they disagree with become separated into the fallen-file. You can see this vividly with this Born-Again administration going through people like dysentery in famine.
The Bible get’s a weird loophole that it’s perfect and the literal word of God, but the New Testament absolves the Old Testament’s paganistic rituals unacceptable to rationale. The past doesn’t matter.
The whole Born-Again experience is predicated on a shedding of one’s past by putting it into a mental container marked ‘Forgiven’. It’s a very convenient way for people who’ve done bad things to compartmentalize and tuck the past away, just to stop the guilt.
I think the more they put on airs of a moral high-ground comes from having to suppress more guilt from having committed more bad deeds.

A dad tried to discredit what he calls “fake news CNN” by doctoring emails between his son, a survivor of the shooting and CNN. He put his son out on the news circuit to lie about CNN, having him say the CNN Town Hall on the shooting was scripted; and they tried to change his questions to ones that suited their agenda.
