Halloween is just around the corner! Festive celebrations and gatherings are in full swing and I love it! I’m going to make some time this weekend to watch a scary movie or two by candlelight.
Do you have a favorite scary movie? How about a favorite scary story or experience? What about Halloween traditions?
Also, vintage halloween costumes are far scarier than most of the costumes available today.

We started early with a Halloween Party at Dillon’s Bayou Restaurant on Pleasant Harbor on Lake Pleasant in Peoria, AZ. It was on Oct. 21st. I was a Scottish Lass and Immortal went as a Scottish Highwayman. He looked so good in his kilt and was one of the hits of the party. I love to go to Dillon’s Bayou because it floats in the lake. When the dance floor is packed with dancers, the whole restaurant rocks — and bobs around dipping up and down. Whoooooooooo!!!!!!!
Then there is the woman next door who is trying to raise her kids all alone. Immortal Pirate saw that she was trying to stick her porch and house Halloween decorations up with Scotch tape. It was not working. I found the strong packing tape and Immortal Pirate helped her put up decorations that would stay up.
Meanwhile, at home, there is Halloween candy by Immortal Pirate’s chair all month. We love to dress up and at Halloween we decorate, enjoy egg nog, dress up and hand out candy to the trick-or-treaters. What I love is how Immortal Pirate stays out there and talks to each and every child —- as if each really is the character they dressed up as.

im no fan of scary none at all :D dont dig horror. not movies anyway. but i respect effort and art. and that image you posted is creepy scary art :D imagine those waiting on your door step with bags out, trick or treat?! CREEPY lol
but i do like weird and dark. infact when i was more into dressing up and going out to halloween bar nights/parties/subway rides, i was more into letting that play a bit in costume. like all year i was crazy cheerful colour explosion and then 5 years in a row i was vampface. you know? what else does one do if she lets her freak flag fly all day ? play dark at night i guess?
that being said, the halloween of my days now is about stirring up the child’s halloween spirit. for a boy who loves to play and act out all the live long day, he sure gets some sort of stage fright at the thought of actually being the center of attention. so as he gets older, his costumes get more basic. BUT NOT IF I HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH IT HAHAHAHA out comes the hair goo and colour techniques :D but i like to encourage him to take the chance to live it a little more real you know?
so this year for the various halloween events, there is a Guardians of the Galaxy theme going on around here. or rather for him. and i will play such supporting roles as Super Mom and Kitchen Witch :) since halloween is on a school night we probably wont watch the usual slightly darker film after trick or treating but we will find Something. maybe a family guy halloween episode or something
The Little House On The Prairie’s episode ‘The Monster of Walnut Grove’ scared me when I was a little kid.

The ones on each side get my vote. I like the plain ole Halloween (78) around this time. Other horrors get their day throughout the year.
