1. When my first son was born and the nightmare of the birth was over. I laid in the hospital bed and the nurse brought me the most beautiful baby I have ever seen.
2. Getting on a jet to fly to Germany to live as an Army wife for a few years. Life seemed like a mystery adventure ahead. (It wasn’t and the next 3 years were very unhappy. I did not adapt to living in Army housing with a baby and a husband who never got the hang of giving me money to buy food for my baby and I. My weight got down to 70 lbs.. Every penny I got a hold of went to buy milk and food for my son.)
3. The birth of my second son. He was pretty, too. I thought my husband would keep me, now that he had two sons. However, he wanted to leave.
4. Returning to the United States and knowing I would soon be going through a divorce —– and knowing that I had to get this being-an-adult thing together and start a life of my own.
5. The worst of the divorce was over and I had a life with my two sons. I was free, at last. I struggled, but life happened. I held us together and it felt good.
6. I met a stunt-man who raced D-Production race cars and was an executive in a large computer firm. He had airplanes, motorcycles, a camper, jet skies, and he loved adventure and travel. He asked me to marry him and be an executive’s wife. The wedding was a witchcraft witches ceremony, but we made it palatable for my family not to freak out. The next 8 years were a whirlwind of watching movies be made, watching my race car driving husband hitting walls —- and I would die inside waiting for him to get out of the car, camping, traveling, ski trips, ocean cruises to boring beach resorts, and entertaining with lavish dinner parties. It was a whirl of an 8 year roller coaster ride. His only wish for me was to not work outside the home. I let him down and started my own business. I killed the marriage. I went through a divorce and I did very well with it.
7. My next marriage was to a drunk and was NOT happy, but after 7 years of nightmare marriage, I got out on my own. That was the happy part. Out on my own — divorced at last — with one of those shee-shee apartments across the street from a Taco Bell. It had all the amenities — pool, gym, spa, steam room, beauty parlor, clubhouse.
8. I married the man I had fallen in love with when I was a little girl and loved all these years. (We had each been married to other spouses) Now he was all mine. I had 12 years of happiness and those were the happy years I can look back on and still laugh. There were hard times and there were silly times that still make me laugh to remember them. Then he got sick and slowly died. But, I had a whole life time of funny memories.
9. Having lost my sons in the Foster System and life-in-general, I found my sons after not seeing them for 30 years. That was a happy reunion. They were grown men in their mid-forties. Now, they are in their mid-fifties.
10. I fell in love with Immortal Pirate —- when he was EmeryPark on SoulPancake. Life has just gotten happier and happier after that. We slowly grew together into an old couple. Selling my house was a nightmare, but moving here was an adventure in moving boxes. Life is getting tame and on an even keel, at last. Every day has something going on. We have been together for 8 years and I love him more and more with each passing day.
@ladybarbara That is great! We have both found love. I did not find love on soul pancake, but my fella was on soul pancake for a while. We moved in together and are happy, too. We laugh a lot and have a very full life.
There are some details I remember about some happy days, but it’s hard to say because the days run together. I think my memory has been getting worse and everything just blends together. I have never really been good at keeping track of dates, but there are some events that I can’t remember if they happened before are after other events. I only remember a few moments anyway. Birthday party of a family member with a water slide. Some memories of the earlier stages of a relationship. Winning 3 point shootout in my PE class.
@yin Those sounds like fun! Yeah, I have a really hard time keeping track of exactly when something happened, too! I miss water slides. I used to take my kids to a water park near us every year and they had the best enormous water slides. I recall one that was shaped like a funnel that we swirled around in until it dropped us into a fast moving slide. I was scared to do it, but I did it for them and it was fun!
@Scarlett2 Depending on what kind you get, they are pretty amazing. I went to two parties that had them. One was nice and giant and one of the best days I had I think. The other was smaller and the ladder thing to get up was not great and was tiring and hurt after a while to go up. I slipped down one once and my head slammed into my nephew’s back. I was dizzy after and he started crying a bit. I got worried I hurt him. He was fine a bit after that. We got lucky. There was one kid that was climbing up the step/ladder thing. He was near the top and I noticed him struggling a little bit and he just stopped moving for a split second. I lunged forward, grabbed the ladder thing, went to grab his hand, but he slipped right down the ladder taking kids out. Everyone was fine after that thankfully. He seemed thankful I tried though, lol. He brought it up a few times after that like, “you almost had me!” I went to a water park in Texas once. I went on the one giant water coaster thing with the big drop off, hitting the water below. I went on it a few times. Was very fun, until the last time where the impact actually hurt. Not sure what was different that time, but I slammed into the bar that holds you in. That was a bad trip overall I feel. We didn’t do much at the park and mainly swam in the pool at the hotel, which for some reason we just enjoyed more. I mean, I did until I got the worst sun burn of my life. My face was so swollen. I could barely see. I won’t be surprised if I have some skin condition or cancer in the future. It was so bad. I’d like to try one of those slides you talked about though. Sounds pretty amazing.

The internet doesn’t have enough room on it to list everything I could say about my life.
