Anyway, for my first post let’s talk about art, music, movies, whatever that really smacks you in you’re feelings. My submission is “Liability” by Lorde. Typically this isn’t really my kind of thing, but somehow this 20 year old was able to condense every difficulty I’ve found in various personal relationships into a three minute song. “They say: You’re a little much for me/ You’re a liability” goddamn it Lorde! What are you trying to do to me? And that moment at 1:59? What the hell Lorde? I don’t even care if it’s a fake little thing put in for TV. This lady gets it, people. Also she looks a lot like Kate Bush here and that’s cool.

@griz Keith was a Brit. Look at the clues. Michigan. I think synergy was from Michigan but i don’t think Goth was a part of his scene. This person has a good grasp of communication (grammar/vocabulary…). Comes across as a little deeper intellectually but I’m deducing younger than either of us because of the goth reference. Gonna need more clues before I hazard a guess.

Well if you’re asking for one that is attached with emotional baggage this one is on the mark for me.
My father died young. We were on the cusp of getting past the youthful immaturity of “I know more than you” and he seemed to accept that maybe I was a little more than what he thought of me. I felt we got to a place where each of us wanted to find a resolution after his first heart attack. The next one came too soon for us complete the total reconciliation that I think we both wanted.
The first time I heard this song was just after he died and even now it strikes a chord in a way that only art can.

Welcome! My first thoughts when I saw that you posted that you were from Michigan was Bubba…but I’m pretty sure that you’re not him, then again I can’t even remember if Bubba(BuddahRocks) was from Michigan.
I recently discovered this song, and it’s just beautifully sad. Lorde really has a special skill with emotional expression.
Lots of things smack me in the feelings. I literally tear up over commercials. With that being said, I guess I’ll share one of those, since it’s now on my mind.
And it just made me cry again.

I will leave you with 2 pieces of art I experienced recently. Last weekend I spent 3 days at the Vancouver, BC Canada Folk Festival. Not knowing who this artist was, we stumbled onto this set on stage 3, which turned out to be the hottest stage of the weekend.
