…and this is what they look like…
As we speak I am listening to the Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack, I pretty well listen to everything through the Spotify app through a Bluetooth Bose speaker that we just carry room to room as required.
I lost my whole vinyl collection during a tornado when we lived in Edmonton Alberta. I thought it was luck, because I was able to replace everything with cd’s which now sit on a shelf gathering dust.
I don’t go looking for music anymore. I just can’t keep up and for the most part, music is just background for us…but we just did a few twirls to Disco Inferno after dinner.

That’s a bummer you lost your vinyl, but dang; you survived a tornado!

i like the websites that sort of build lists out of ‘favourite’ songs, or similar artists. that way i am getting the sound i like without having to spend as much time searching. i get a lot of new music to my ears that way

I would have loved watching a movie like Guardians of the Galaxy with you! (Or is it just the soundtrack you like?). It’s a genre of movie I enjoy.
I’m a pragmatic sort of guy. Needle-and-vinyl just don’t work in a vibrating truck — and storage of even compact disks is problematic at best.
So all of my music is now stored and comes to me digitally. Often with accompanying videos.
And even my collection of DVD movies, a selection of which I do carry in the truck, have transformed into .mp3’s and .avi’s.

I haven’t put a needed on some vinyl in a long time, but I do have a record player. I just have to build my library.
@mj I have a record player and plenty of records, but I need a needle!
mostly i use deezer, either on my computer or through app if i am at work

Napster and youtube pretty much. I haven’t really had a bug for collecting vinyls. I did think about buying a cassette collection. I can appreciate the lo-fi of it.
If there are set songs I want to listen to, I use either Spotify or YouTube. If I want to have random music like a radio, I use Pandora. I have one playlist on Spotify, and it has 1,206 songs on it, lol.
I do vinyl. It’s the only physical media I buy music on. Actually it’s the only music I buy anymore. I mostly just stream on Spotify or record labels and PR companies send it to me for free cuz I guess I use good words to talk about music.

I have left the vinyl collection behind in divorces. Packing lightly and leaving.
As for music, I tolerate it while driving in the car. I have an easy listening contemporary mix of oldies and moldies mixed with newies on the radio. Going through the deserts between California and Arizona, I have cds that I ruined with extreme heat.
For the most part, music is —- meh. I might sample a few seconds of a song when someone will say, “Listen to this song”. Then I turn it off after I got the idea of what the song is. If my listening to the song means so much to the person that told me to listen to it, then I will sit and tolerate it until that person is happy, but I am tolerating it like a cat tolerates a bubble bath in the sink. Actually, there is something that some notes will vibrate behind my nose, in my sinus area and cause a pain on my brain, like ice-cream brain freeze. I avoid listening to songs that hit that note. My reaction to the pain is to turn the music off.
