Immigration policy or kidnapping?
The Irish potato famine was labeled by some historians as genocise die to Britain’s policies on the matter?
Could we see something similar here where we are labeled as kidnappers for the separation policies?
The separation policies have ended, but some children still have not been reunited with their families.

Some of those “families” are people who habitually break the laws and have been shown to be unsavory and unfit. Some of the children showed a real FEAR of the people that they were taken from. The child’s safety has been considered in the decision and when the family members are still incarcerated.
Child Services is doing their very best to sort out the problems.
Health and Human Services is doing their best to sort out the problems.
If a child was in fear or discomfort with the “family” , then the child’s safety and comfort come first ——- before the complaining adults in the “family”. DNA tests are showing that the child was NOT traveling with blood relations and when the child’s story agrees with that —– and the true parents cannot be found, then the safety of the child and well-being of the child will rule over anything else. Sometimes it is a hard decision for Child Services and the courts, but they are doing the best that they can in this bad situation — where MOST of the children were NOT traveling with blood relations.
@ladybarbara I dont trust the government on the DNA tests. I fear that they will use the tests as false results for proof of crime. I will add that I do not trust a lot of authority, and this is regardless of what party they are a part of.
Remember “history is written by the victors.” And there will be no war that illegal immigrants can win.
My thought is that it was rather tame and short-lived compared to what many cultures have known.
Most damage and suffering . . . was done to the national ego.

Compared to what happens and has happened throughout Human History, this was a blip.
Yes, people were traumatized. Like it or not, this happens all the time; and if people aren’t coddled in victimhood power groups, a lot heal from this and in doing so learn how to heal from a lot of other things that would kill most Westerners just to see a movie about it.
Let’s remember that we’ve become the world-class wimps at self-traumatizing ourselves over a pin dropping.
Who will hold “trespassers” accountable?
The law. NOT the SJW’s and neo-Marxist identity-politics people. And if the law’s not doing it’s job, we change by civilized means. NOT by way of the SJW’s and the identity politics people. Because the tactics and ideologies they employ are socio-toxic. Which actually plays strongly against the reality that there ARE social issues that need addressing.
But first we need to deal with the toxic SJW’s and their neo-Marxist ringleaders. This movement has become far more toxic than what happened at the border. (In part because it ceased, and toxic social constructionism is a relentless engine that can only take us to one destination.
And it’s not a good one)
Assuming we make it out the other side of this, it will be yet another stain on this country’s history. I don’t care if Obama gets brought up or not, it should have never been created or implemented. Like our terrible drone program, this is not going to be a shining moment for us. We need to reflect and be better.
How to avoid separating children from their families on our southern border:
BUILD THE WALL. Problem solved.

Studies under GBush senior (iirc) found even a fence logistically impossible in some regions. But a wall is???

Actually that was your own nation’s study that said it wasn’t possible; not me.
But we do need to set some naivety aside. China’s wall:
1. Was built by tyranny
2. That tyranny was stable over the 2000 years it took. (The US is flying apart into segregated and warring factions after just 250!)
3. It was built by slave labor, with many lives sacrificed as less valuable than the wall. (Unions would make it unfeasible unto impossibility)
4. They didn’t “require” the Mongolians to pay for it!!

More like problem forestalled or ignored.
Because if a fence is not feasible in certain areas a wall even more so. And leakage will occur.
There’s not been a fortification built that humans haven’t circumvented.
So no. Not a problem solved.
And I’ll introduce another train of thought.
If “a wall will keep you from doing something evil”, I have total control over you.
Because I can “make you evil” . . . Just by knocking a hole in a structure. You don’t even have to be present!
I can make you evil by remote control.
That’s a hell of a lot of power to give someone over yourself.
