Sounds like the words of an educated man, but from a time long past; definitely pre-Kennedy. I can imagine Roosevelt saying it, but I’d go back further to a man proud of his humility, which is of itself a bit strange. Lincoln liked to use words that could set a tone that sounded presidential unlike the current tweettwerp. I’m a fan of Lincoln so I can also imagine him saying this as he is currently spinning in his grave at the antics of the current COTUS.
