So, I’m drilling into Google as I try to understand a few issues I am trying to clear up in my head and I came across two things. One was that 1.1 Million American military personnel have been killed in action since the American Revolution. That includes about 450,000 during the Civil War.

One conclusion drawn is that the US war machine has directly enacted between 5,000 and 10,000 September 11th’s SINCE WW2 and maybe more importantly it suggests that the same reaction that the American people felt, was also felt by the families affected in their countries.
is all this the direct result of some pursuing happiness with no regard for the collateral damage?
The link provides what appears to be solid justification to support the conclusions drawn. It may have found a way to justify a pre-conceived conclusion, but all I am putting forward are facts presented. Of course, we seem to have to always be on the look out for alternative facts these days. If these numbers are accurate; does this shock anyone else?

Actually not, as I’ve heard/ saw that figure before, though I can’t quite place where. It’s just never came up in conversation before.
War has always been a place of slaughter. Some historical times have been more brutal than others. At this point in time, we have the unique ability to wipe ourselves out with the press of a button, not because we do it to ourselves per se (though that is not impossible either), but because if we use certain technologies, others will respond in kind.

History is rife with mans inhumanity to his fellow man. American involvement in this inhumanity is but a small piece of a much larger picture. Nothing new here, just more pronounced with modern technology and high speed communications/ internet/world wide web. Mankind as a whole is guilty of mass murder, regardless of national borders or political ideologies.

Killing others aside, you’re murder rate is well over double, close to triple the world average. 16.3 per 100,000. World, 6.2, Europe 3.0, Asia 2.9.and no other country is responsible for the death of 20,000,000 people in countries beyond their own borders.
The cavalier attitude being illustrated here indicates you just accept it rather than show any shame for it because you somehow seem to accept it is being done for the “right” reasons, or do you?
Have you all been conditioned to accept it out of fear that you can easily meet the same fate? I mean the whole gun thing usually is founded on fear of anything. Are you guys world bullies because you’re afraid? Hmmmm…that could explain a lot.
You can tell where our priorities are when you see a chart on what the US spends it’s money on. And the bull crap that we are the world’s police. Well, sometimes we do a good job of it; but most times we insert ourselves in a country for oil. Not for some noble, moral thing; but oil. Wars makes many corporations tons of money, and the US is now a corporation, controlled by corporations with a very corrupt “CEO”, prez leading us. Shit, god damn, get off your ass and jam!
@Gina The hardest thing to deal with, if you are a leader that has a devotion to his/her followers, in this particular case, is when you turn that pie chart to represent the actual families that are supported by the earning they accumulate and spend that then supports other families along the supply chain.
This is one BIG boat that can’t be turned easily. The same for energy, GMO foods and the automotive industry. It takes real brains to do that, not the kind of brains that relies on supply/demand economics associated with real estate.
if you think $600 billion is a lot, consider that China now holds $1.2 Trillion (double) in US debt. US may have to trade California when the loan comes due.
This is like cancer listing all the cell deaths chemotherapy has been responsible for.
