It’s not going to happen with the GOP controlling the house and the senate, but that’s going to change this November. But, I rather see Trump go to jail for treason…along with many of his administration including Pence. I think they are all way deep into collusion with Russia. We will wait and see what happens with Robert Mueller’s investigation. Oooh, Steve Bannon was subpoenaed last week!
Impeaching Trump would give us Pence whose agenda may be even more frightening than Trump’s.

There is the very great potential for this exercise to become the the absolute worst thing for all of the biggest players who thought they could milk it for their own benefit and glory.
Whether the Trumps, the GOP, “the base” . . .
This could become the greatest “justice”, even if the process echos that of OJ Simpson and no prison-time for the crime is assessed.
Because what has happened “in darkness” for years is set to become a never-ending load of albatross around their necks. Unless justice is obstructed (the very thing that took Nixon down), everything on down to Trump’s ravenously-guarded financial records are fair game to the justice inquiry.
An inquiry that could be left “open” until he no longer has the shield of the presidency to hide behind. (Which could be partial explanation for the increasing desperation and illogic of his tweets of late seeking to preserve that shield)
It could become a very clear case of his own avarice being the greatest contributor to the downfall of his entire empire — and the empires of all those who thought they could hitch their wagon to his.
Only if America has learned well all of the lessons that this episode is there to teach.
It is with sadness that I offer observation that several of the biggest lessons have not yet been learned well enough for them not to be repeated in the next 30 years or so.
Sometimes, being “saved” early from an unsavory lesson . . . is no kindness. The full consequences need to come dangerously close to home to roost so the trauma remains as a cautionary device to not returning there any time soon.
And that point has not yet come. But it could come tomorrow, if enough people climb out of the imprisoning ruts of fear, anger, divisiveness, convention, and the insanity of repeating the same exercises over and over while fully expecting different results.
