A few years ago, this would have just been a mental exercise but let’s face it, politics is more about optics than it is about actual capabilities . Who is better prepared to present an optical illusion than people who are trained to present a believable image, versus a boring, behind the scenes workhorse committed to getting shit done?
Consider yourself as a campaign manager and think about the pros and cons of your choice.

I’d pick Michael Moore as a potential candidate.
Pros:
-The guy has drilled into the details.
-He is more representative of the really common Joe, and might be closer to what the common Joe might be, although Americans might not want to think that factory workers are at the foundation of what America “is”, but the common Joe’s vote.
-He has passion as he expresses his opinion.
Cons
-He seems to have a bit of a chip on his shoulder that might give him a bias towards working with people that might be valuable contributors to actually getting things done.
-His baseball cap is fine at home, but nothing replaces dressing for success on the international stage. The facts can support this.
-He is pretty aggressive in calling out the issues, which is easy, but does he have the people skills to actually facilitate the solutions and put an administration together that can work with the “suits” in Congress and the Senate that have got the optics already figured out?
hmmm, might need to rethink my choice. Matt Damon might be better because his range of people that might listen to him is higher.
One way or another, the next POTUS, whether the incumbent, or his competition, has to understand the rules of engagement as a celebrity first to get into the big chair.
Pros: Speaks Russian. He writes poems. Big Musclesthhhh. Conan’s dad. Marlboro-man.
Cons: Best known for losing a fake-fist-fight to Squint Eastwood & invading AhhhMerica! People will think he’s Will Smith. Speaks Russian…writes poems.
William Smith

Donald Trump
@Weenis
His pros ARE his cons!
@griz
You don’t know how to use words.
If they’re pros, then they can’t be cons. And if they’re cons, they can’t be pros.
I love when liberals try to be clever and looks smart, and then just end up looking like Pelosi.
@Weenis
I was not expecting a literary device to so completely baffle you!
Having trouble with your oxymorons?
@griz
It didn’t baffle me. It just didn’t make any sense and wasn’t clever.
In what was is Trump a “Con”?
So far, it seems to me that the left, yourself included, is just pissing and moaning because of his anti-globalization, and anti-global warming BS agendas run contrary to everything the left has been standing for and building up in the last 20 years.
So, explain to me how he’s a conman.
@Weenis
If you’ve never been exposed to any of Trumps past telemarketing exploits, you’ve been robbed of some of the best humor on the planet!
It’s almost as humorous as trying to watch an old leopard change his spots — or try to not pass his dysfunctions on to his kids, his enterprises, his campaigns, his supporters.
Or listening to you pretend you don’t know what kind of a man he is; or that duplicity is what will make America great again.
For the sake of the stupid, perhaps you should have explained your pun. His supporters have accepted a con man. He is a skilled delivery device of falsehoods that sound good to those who are in the market for snake oil,
I thought it was rather clever.
Tomorrow’s lesson, the meaning behind to story of Noah’s Ark and the reality show of how he housed 8.7 million species (give or take 1.3million) and fed them for 40 days and forty nights. Brought to you by Monsanto. Inventors of food.
@spitfire3dc
OK, for the sake of simplicity:
The con is in making the cons look like pros and the pros look like cons!
@Weenis
Is that more betterish use of the wordifications?
I will still want Donald Trump. I am going to vote for him in the next election. 63 million people like him and voted for him and I like that he is holding to his promises. I love that he is not a Globalist and will not join in with those who are pushing for a New World Order of a One World Government. Trump is keeping up the good work that the working Heartland of America voted him in office for.
@ladybarbara
They must have some powerful good weed there in Arizona!
@griz I don’t do weed. I don’t do ANY drugs, not even aspirin or cough syrup.
@ladybarbara
Then we obviously have some very different news sources!
But the Donald”s track record is something we are going to have to agree to disagree on for the sake of our friendship
@griz We get the same news, but you see it as a negative and I see it as him doing what he said he would do and getting America out of the things he promised to get us out of. He is pulling us out of Globalization and New World Order. He is pulling us away from Socialism. I see it as a blessing to the working Heartland red states — between the West coast states and New York City. I get my news from the President himself. He talks right to the people of America via the internet each and every day.
@ladybarbara
Then we see the pros and cons of isolationism differently.
@spitfire3dc there’s more more con. He’s out of shape! The president of the USA is expected to take good care of himself.
thought we did
I’d choose the fictional X-man Charles Xavier, aka “Professor X”
I guess Jon Stewart. I mean, I think I’d be ok with The Rock at this point. He is lovable, respectable, and he puts in work.
