So me and my daughter took a walk along the river tonight. We talked about safety and I told an untruthlette about there being safe people in the world. Truth is, whenever I stop and think about it, there are no safe people. Only safe moments, like that moment there, with me and my daughter standing on the bridge taking photographs of the moon.
Maybe some day we could make more safe moments like this. Maybe we could have safety zones like the river or the moon or even just a shack in the mountains. Not fancy, but with comfortable blankets and Maybe a fireplace . We could just… you know, take a time out from our life of killing writers and fighting amongst ourselves and never ending social media and all the unsafe people who don’t care about others feelings and just go sit on the quilt in the hut. Take a breath. and then go back to watching your family fall apart and people get shot and read news stories of battered babies and remember that your dad never comes home because he’s in jail. Sorry for the downer. Today’s been a bastard of a day.

We went to a party at Dillon’s Bayou floating restaurant on Lake Pleasant in Arizona. I took a picture of Immortal Pirate in his kilt doing that “manspreading” sit. The women were sneaking peeks and all of us at our table were laughing —– as he turned to me and asked what was so funny.

Just remember that safe spaces become prisons. Because there’s people outside, and people are people.
There’s probably people inside the Walled Garden as well. And even the best constructed wall never keeps out all of the snakes.
Be very cautious of the oppression Olympics ideology my friend. It’s designed to isolate, and to teach people they are too incompetent to deal with the realities of life. The tree that has never experienced the storm, can be uprooted by a breeze.
We should teach our children not to hide, but to be anti-fragile.
