Religion of peace breaking out right now in London

First it was the London Bridge attack, and now there are blasts at The Sun’s office.

The pedophile worshipers involved in the bridge attack jumped out of a van and started stabbing people. My guess is, if the people of England were still able to arm themselves, 7 people might not have needlessly died to these cowards.

They get what they accept and tolerate. They welcomed the immigrants and now the people have to live with the terrorist acts that those immigrants inflict on the people of London. You allow snakes to live with you and don’t be surprised when you get a nasty snake bite.

I agree with @Weenis that had the people been able to carry a weapon, lives would have been saved.

All religions worship violence and discourse in some way.

Whether suddenly and loudly in acts of terrorism . . . or quietly protracted over time in hypocrisy and judgmentalism.

What may annoy us the most is that what our religions have sought to carefully craft over years and generations . . . this current one is accomplishing in moments with a ‘crash’ or ‘bang’.

Note to the Admins: the “Sun” link associated with this page is trying to overpower it. It covers most of the “Leave a Respose” box.

Yet as it was pointed out, it’s impossible to escape hypocrisy and judgementalism. Even the best, most godly among us. If we limit it here, eliminate it there, it shows up elsewhere. It’s like a the concept of sin. We might be able to get rid of it one by replacing it with something else that’s better for us (and in general), but at day’s end it simply shifts elsewhere. We might limit our cursing, but we’ll gossip instead. Or we’ll diet and exercise to maintain weight but then we’ll be proud of our accomplishments. Or we’ll stop smoking, but overwork or exercise a crazy amount.

Unless the core “need” for them is re-written.

Remember that when I pointed out the key theme of the whole Bible was reconciliation but the “vehicle” by which it came was love? If one manages to truly love others, one will not be hypocritical or judemental of them. Gossip is just “killing with words”; but if love enters the picture the desire to “destroy” others quiets. Diet and exercise can be valid parts of love in respecting the one physical and very intimate gift God has given you.

Does any of this link to Paul’s discourse on “a renewing of the mind”? Change just one key aspect of your thinking, and a multitude of bad habits drop away very naturally.

PROVIDED one is not addicted (and still “lorded and mastered”) by the flesh and it’s feelings. There are very few bad habits that are not linked to a desire to either gain or avoid certain feelings in our flesh.
Change the spirit. That increases mastery over the thoughts. And that increases mastery over the flesh.
