  1. Drugs.

    And alcohol.

IDK… “wrath”? I have some desire for vengeance in me. Some rare times.

      • “Who or what do you want vengeance on the most? And why?”

I was partly joking because of the stereotype of the name… but it is also a good question, though the concept of “seven deadly sins” is wrong (and not scriptural, but manmade).

I do not want vengeance on anyone these days. I am an extremely laid back person. Sometimes I want vengeance for short periods of time. Primarily, I dislike truly deep and dark evil such as one finds amongst tyrannical groups.

The mainstream belief in hell did sink in on me, as did the general mainstream attitudes of judging and condemning others trivially and ruthlessly. Though, on the later, I did not do so as I saw, but it did influence me.

Long since then, however, I learned the goal is to fix and change people. And a big end game secret is it is very possible for everyone to obtain immortality. Nobody is going to be tortured forever and ever.

But, in some rare situations, these sorts of things can come up, and I can get really fiery and really dark fast.

But, inwardly, I see that as for communication. And because of my belief set, it passes and when it passes, it is forgotten.

So, it is a bit like the movie anger management, where the very mild mannered man freaks out. Or, like the incredible hulk, where the very mild mannered bruce banner really tries hard to avoid those situations. Whereas, conversely, I look out into society and see very frequently many people seemingly constantly flipping out on each other and judging and condemning many, trivially, often, strongly, harshly.

And I am the one who goes against that.

But, when I do blow, it can be really very bad. Honestly, it is not that I am violent or anything personally, but I really believe when I have super strong emotions it accompanies really powerful psychic powers. Not that anyone else but me (and no one on earth anyway) can believe this, but I consider that danger extremely serious.

Otherwise, being a finite person, I have many limitations. How many games are there, and how can anyone make a perfect shot having never played many? I do not view these things as deadly merely because part of eternal life is protection from God.

Certainly, I do not put that past God, however. Or myself. So, I mean, I would not literally want to be like Dr X in Logan. Where if he mentally flips, it causes some sort of armageddon level event. Or, conversely, that I do not make such a mistake as Moses did with the rock and end up not getting to complete his mission.

“Pride” is the more serious and more frequent, whereas something like gluttony is not real. At best true gluttony is where there is an anxiety induced disorder (or an addictive personality disorder). But, as we are finite beings, it is trivial to overestimate our knowledge and capabilities, and natively we do so frequently.

Drop down dead conceit pride, something else, however.

I see that most frequently in my video game I play, where young people become addicted to this culture of prestige and become isolated from the reality and necessity of humility.

This also allows people to judge others as flipantly as they do, frequently. In worst case examples, it ends up genocidal. It is the core backing all tyrannical systems. Slander.

I can be wrath at times, which I despise.
I can be envious, but I’m not sure it is to a fault.
I guess maybe sloth then. My motivation and desires are almost nonexistent, so I just don’t do much. I think this is what may really hurt me at some point.

You have inertia. Do you know why you have inertia?

My choice for the worst was wrath, too, because it seemed like it was most likely to hurt others.

I actually missed the question of what was the worst. Sorry. I overlooked it somehow. Wrath is probably the worst, yes. Pride though, I feel that it could lead to wrath or trigger everyone other’s wrath, you know? Nationalistic people. They have all of this pride and some speak in such a way that get everyone else angry and violent. Wrath is that violence though. Wrath is a true monster.

Fear of pain and fear of hurting others are probably a lot of my problem. My outlook on life is also an issue. I’m basically just trying to coast through until my time comes. I just don’t have that same joy and aspirations as other people. I wish I did. I find joy in certain types of fiction, but there is nothing there for me to actively pursue myself. I’m not a creative person, but I highly enjoy the creations of those people. I thank those people (along with friends and family of course) for making my life tolerable.

Which is the worst…hmm, I guess I’m going to say greed.

Which am I most guilty of? I’m going to say lust and gluttony.

Though, I don’t think that any of the seven deadly sins are intrinsically wrong. As with most things, the matter comes down to balance. Any of these “sins” within limits can actually pose benefits in some cases.

“Shades of sin” is a construct, of the construct of religion.

Scripturally, all sin leads to the natural consequence of spiritual death. We created “degrees of sin” as a vehicle of hypocrisy and the ability to better “condemn” certain people while overlooking the sins in our own life. “Oh, at least I’m not a ___________, like her!”

All sin is offshoot of the original sin, pride.

Over-complicating it does more harm than good — but religion thrives on complicating the simple.

Can you expound on why the original sin is pride?

It is alleged the original sin was when Lucifer was dissatisfied with how reality “serviced” his feelings and said “I shall become as unto God! [ and then my feelings will be serviced proper!]
The greater whole fragmented into delusionary kingdoms of selfishness.

I don’t know “The 7” off-hand. But is there a single one of them that cannot be traced back to selfish pride? To the assertion that me and my feelings in this moment are paramount over everything else? All of them would seem to be a servicing of my feelings in this moment in bugger the longer-term cost to self, to others, to productivity, to the greater whole. . .

I am guilty of the one deadly sin: selfish pride. And one is a lot easier to manage than 7!

(And I would bear witness that “the one deadly sin” can be very effectively managed through what it is alleged Christ’s death and resurrection spiritually accomplished.)

Oh, and if one loves Commandments the very first one was to have no other gods before God. That includes ourselves our feelings our emotions our selfish Pride.

  6. There is only one unpardonable sin in the eyes of God…if you tell the Holy Spirit leave you alone, He will, and be assured you’re going to hell. There is no degrees of sin, one been worse than an other, there is only sin. The idea of seven deadly sins is a man made construct, probably by the Roman Catholic Church.

Technically, it’s “blasphemy” against the Holy Spirit. Very many people have essentially told God’s Spirit to leave them the hell alone (myself included) — yet in time have been regenerated into Life and Life more abundantly.

God has very broad shoulders and can deal with the kids shouting that they hate Him and to just leave them alone. I don’t think we have to worry about “accidentally” committing the “unpardonable sin”. I believe a lot of intent and conviction has to go into it.

And it’s less that God “cannot pardon it”, as one comes to a point of consciously choosing to permanently “devalue” the only process by which one must be saved. It’s still there. It’s still potent. But we have “chosen” to devalue it in our own minds — and this over time.

Billy Graham used to have a preaching partner, Charles Templeton, who was far more powerful a speaker and “mover of the people” than Graham ever was. It was predicted by many that Templeton would become a spiritual mover-and-shaker and Graham’s rather soft-spoken and simple message would fade into obscurity.
But Templeton had a crisis of faith and over years slipped ever closer to blasphemy of the only process that could help him.
I’ve read Templeton’s final interview with Lee Strobel before his death due to Alzheimers. And in a moment of quiet reflection Templeton indicated that at times he wish he could experience Salvation again . . . but recognized that he’d come too far. He’d just spent too much time devaluing something of great value, for it to have any potency in his own conditioned mind.

Gluttony and sloth. I like to enjoy pastries for breakfast. So, I control it by buying Immortal Pirate’s favorites (that I don’t particularly like). I will buy only 2 for myself out of a dozen. I try to buy more fruit and healthy things for our treats. The sloth? Well, I like being lazy. So, I get moving with something I am passionate about —– my garden in my greenhouse.

Sins? Gosh! Are there really 7 of them? Will they really kill us? Are they all that deadly? Maybe it is a matter of balance. Maybe it is a matter of control. Maybe it is a matter of watching for the signs that you need to cut back. Like when I put on a thong and Immortal Pirate can’t even see it, as it gets lost in my “curves”. Oh well, I am in my 70’s and I am going to have fun while I can —— God willing and the creeks don’t rise.

I spend a lot of time on the computer watching documentaries and enjoying family and friends on facebook. Sometimes, we get up at noon and before we know it, it is 5:00 pm, and I am still in my night gown. There are days that I get dressed only because I want to cross the street to see if we got any mail and don’t want the neighbors to think that I spend the day in my night gown —- or that I am a bath robe hermit. Nightgown days are only a few, now and then. It doesn’t matter how I am dressed for house work and yard work, but I do get dressed when going to the grocery store. I never want to get caught in a video of the People of WalMart.
