Should we get a bse income?

The following article suggests that it might be a good thing: https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2018/07/09/who-really-stands-to-win-from-universal-basic-income

Do you think it’d work? What are its benefits? Drawbacks? Challenges that can be overcome?

  1. HOW MUCH IS @griz PAYING YOU TO GIVE HIM OPPORTUNITIES TO TROT OUT the dog-eared term “neo-Marxist” & the like?!?!?!?!?!?

I wonder if universal basic income will come with mandatory blood & plasma extractions?

What’s wrong with the current mostly privatized system of basic universal income for wasting your time doing things that often make no sense because they truly do not?

Think of all the bad novels that’ll never pollute people’s heads thanks to our controlling neo-feudalist identity-groups.

@luftballooneyegouge actually I read the article and did some math…
When I was living with my parents, I have VERY few expenses. Like $230 a month. Let’s say the numbers are at the $11,000/ yr, and food stamps are $200./ mo; in all that gives me a base of basically $1,117 a month to live off of. Provided that food stamps aren’t cut off and I can save the remainder… and am not taxed on it, over the last 20 years I would have a total of $212,880 saved up by now. Let’s say I splurge some months and I only have $200,000. Mind you, $200 per month is food expenses only, but still… that is an AMAZING amount of money to be able to have saved!

My main concern is in gaps. Too easy to end up homeless, in jail, or sick with out necessary doctor intervention. Europe is way ahead of us.

But universal income happens when we discover endless. Free energy. Earth does not have this yet.

@five2one easily done. Make earth a dyson sphere. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dyson_sphere
While not infinite, it would do, for a time.

@Jear77 I am aware of the dyson sphere possibility. But, there is much in the universe which modern science does not fully understand. Such as the behavior of electrons in their paths and how they make quantum leaps.

@five2one why does that make any difference? We’d be capturing so much of the sun’s,energy, such things would be meaningless.

@Jear77 The free energy I was really talking about is eternal life. So what if you can power your toys when you are going to die? What value are such things to the dead?

But, you need a new body to do this. One not made of perishable flesh, but imperishable.

@five2one conversely, you can obtain the technology to transfer consciousness to a new, younger body, so as one dies, they don’t truly cease to exist.

@Jear77 I do not have confidence you have anyone other then your self in your heart, but I also do believe you may. I leave that hope open. I am watching to see if you progress.

Probably not, but it may just be they are dead to you right now.

That would not wake up until you fill your empty heart,

@five2one consider that that only lasts for one or two generations… maybe 3 at most. After that the memory of the person vanishes forever, except what is written about them, or lasting types of things to their memory – like memorials.

@five2one so you’re saying that no one was spirit other than those who ended up in history books?

@Jear77 “so you’re saying that no one was spirit other than those who ended up in history books?”

I suppose I would have said that, if I said it.

That is quite the exact opposite of my viewpoint.

History books are full of lies, for one thing.

Also, there are plenty of people who live amazing lives who are completely unknown, down here, on planet earth. I am talking about spiritual people here. Spiritual people do and say spiritual things, which are lost in: worries & desires of the world, Satan comes and takes them, or external persecution comes and takes it away.

        This is an advantage.

        It gives invisibility.

Right now, there is invisibility for most spiritual people on earth. But, in the Kingdom to come, that invisibility will not remain.

That, is what I am talking about: spiritual people and their deeds will be remembered in the Age to come.

I am, of course, talking about spiritual people of the Spirit of God, not those of the spirit of this world. The world is run by people born rich in spirit of this world. Currently. [And speaking of just the people, not the powers behind them.]

The history books of the world are bunk. The history books of God is good.

But, this is also not the full case here. For instance, the people Moses led out of Egypt became spiritually bonded to him and him to them. Through the water and through the cloud. They had to trust him at a core level of their heart.

Spiritual people create bonds with other spiritual people, and that bonds them forever.

But, if you are not going to make it, certainly those bonds break.

That is the sort of living in people’s hearts forever which matters. The hearts in question must actually live forever.

To get there, you have to be bonded spiritually with someone. For instance, as Moses had the remnant bonded with him, in his heart, because of their having to have life challenging faith in him to get through the cloud and the sea.

Or, with Jesus, and how they went through the very same process. His followers.

@five2one yeah, but look what happened to the Israelites. Their camp was overrun with snakes, and they needed to look up to a snake idol to save themselves. They had the same food – no variety. They eradicated whole peoples. Wandered around the desert for the generation that was saved to die off. And this is the same god that is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow?

It’s going to have to happen if the human race wants to be as plentiful is it currently is. Robots and A.I. will be taking every job eventually. We need something now to help the poor but we most definitely will need it in the future when there is no need for humans. This of course is assuming we don’t destroy ourselves or A.I. doesn’t destroy or abandon us.

@Weenis not all work is hard or toil inducing. Else sex in and of itself (which raises the heart rate) would be so painful it would kill us.

If you’re doing sex right, it’s hard work.

If your sex isn’t hard work, then you’re probably not doing it right.
