So, none of this actually recognizes the definition of a cult. Amazingly the democratic party has more in common with a cult than the NRA, almost on par with Scientology. But then again, almost all Scientologists are Democrats.
@Weenis “Holy crap”, you are not on to anything. Scientology is a global “religion” that isn’t affiliated with any particular political party. Quit spouting false information. The US Scientology cult has members who belong to various parties.
BUT, it is a cult; much like the NRA.
Definition of the word Cult: A misplaced or excessive admiration for a particular person or thing.
@Weenis
The cult calls a cult a cult? To what intelligent space is this transitioning?
Both sides of the political spectrum have blatantly religious aspects to them; where their appointed pope-figure says the sky is green and the brainwashed ideologues set out to hate anyone who doesn’t comply to the divinely-established dogma. The path to truth and enlighenment lies in the middle — but people are to busy dangling from the hairy fringes.
I see the NRA is “suing Florida” — based entirely on the sacredness of the 2nd Amendment. So how about that dialogue? Is it time to amend the amendment?
Well, which is “safer” not just for your own paranoid delusions but for the rest of the general public? The religious rhetoric of the NRA is becoming embarrassing to it’s ideologues — except they’re too brainwashed to register this.
(What WAS he doing with a firearm in the concealed tactical sandwich cubby of his bed??? Doesn’t he know that if Jr. comes staggering in in the night after a bad dream the combined cholesterol in that thing could accidentally kill Jr dead??)

Leading to insane mass-shootings (on average, one for almost every other day of the year) and placing your children at a THIRTEEN TIMES greater risk of being shot before they are 15 compared to ANY other civilized nation!
When “”sanity”” births such insanity, the saneness of those self-professing themselves sane becomes the greatest insanity.

This is pure fear-reaction demonstrating similarities across the board comparable to even talking with an addict about limiting access to their preferred coping-substance.
I fear that the only psychotherapy that might help America’s gun-addicts might be to shanghai them in the night, wrap them naked in a blanket, and ship them off without any identity papers to some “savage” land like Australia where the have effective gun laws which are credited with giving them the lowest violent crime-rates in 25 years.
The graph at the following page shows that effective gun control has had a dramatic impact on robbery, the main reason most people buy guns and end up hurting or killing unintended victims. And yes, Aussies can still own guns!

NRA are idiots, though I like my guns.
@five2one Nobody is trying to take your guns away. We just want some sane laws around them. :)
@Gina
We already have sane laws.

(It’s already a proven fact that the incidents of “random good guys with a gun stopping a bad guy with a gun” are so low as to be negligible.
