time traveler

Read a Huff post report about a man claiming to have time traveled from 2048. He was sent here to warn us that aliens would invade in 2018. If you DID meet a time traveller from the future, what would you ask them?

Have to ask about the state of the world and the US in particular. Ask how many humans are around. Ask what type of invasion it was. Was it like a Hitler invasion or refugee invasion? I know it says “warn us,” but we know how bigots spin things like that with paranoia. Lex Luthor always warned the world about Superman. A couple of story lines/alternate universes where that was a legitimate concern to be fair, but they aren’t the average Superman. It is a case by case basis, which is how it should be. Ask how the time machine works, or at least the basics of it. Ask what kinds of aliens and what they look like. If it was a violent invasion, ask what kicked it off. I guess it doesn’t really matter because there is nothing I’d be able to do to stop whatever it is. They’d go to the government and hope they could stop it, but maybe that is what actually starts it. He goes back in time to warn us, and then the government immediately opens fire on a would-be peaceful alien visit which is covered up by lies of how they started it all.

    “What took you so long?”

Then I’d ask to see if their watch was running slow!

(To see if I could trick them into showing me their advanced technology!)

I would ask the time traveler if any of this has happened.

Ok, so around thirty years into the future eh?

I think it might be something related to Wall Street, but I’d leave the question relatively broad. Any issues that stood out. Maybe even broader than Wall Street…anything economically associated on a global scale.

The economy is something that governments try to manage and I’d like to know results associated with good management and also bad, that would help me potentially plan without the sense of feeling like I am gambling.
