What are you good at?

I feel like I am good with communication. I am also good at entering a state of flow.

Good question. One I have wondered for about my whole life. I’m decent at video games and understanding them and their system at the basic level. Like, I watch this group of people who play video games for a living. They are hilarious, which is how they are entertaining. Some are really good at games, better than me, but they somehow fail to grasp certain aspects that seem pretty simple to me. It is odd to see at times. There are people though that manage to find like every calculation within the games to maximize what they do in it. I can’t do all of that.

I have a friend who a few months ago said that she asks me my opinions on things because I am brutally honest. Is that being good at something though? I try to be as real as I can with people without being a jerk. I try to point out the flaws or how I see it while also pointing out the good when I can. If I don’t like something though, I just don’t like it. If I don’t like something though and I’m not asked about it, I usually stay quiet. I don’t typically put my negative opinion where it wasn’t asked.

@yin yes, I think being authentic is being good at something. not that many people are. Are you interacting with people who match your intellect? I feel like you need to do that.

@Scarlett I’m not even sure where my intellect is to match it. Interactions I have with people in real life is mostly entertainment based (since I really don’t care to get into debates with friends and family.) Wrestling, video games, superheroes, movies, TV shows, YouTube videos. Sites like this and Twitter are places where I can interact with others about more important things or deeper things. I’m not sure where intellect is involved with that though.

    Seeing.
Pondering and manipulating the abstract concepts of what I’m seeing.

And then inviting others to see them.

And this is very close to one definition of an artist: someone who shares vision and teaches others how to see things beyond their superficiality.

Taking the stink out of a room. That’s what a friend/co-worker said about me. He said I am the baking soda you put in refrigerator to take the smell out. i.e. If there is tension in a room, I bring light in and people start to feel calm and happy.

I have had multiple colleagues comment on how observant I am.

I think that helps me with problem solving. I can see existing contributions to an issue and then make determinations on how to overcome them.

However, ask me to find something specific in the refrigerator and I just can’t see things. I have no idea how I can possess both traits at the same time.

Writing when i have the time to do so. Cooking, but follow my own guidelines, so would make a poor restaurat chef.

Almost everything. I am a line, not a circle which is Pi. (His real name.)

I am good at whatever Satan is good at, and good at whatever Moses is good at, plus one.

So… I am very good at many things if you know what I mean.

Five to one, I would not bet.
