There are a variety of “life hacks” things that are said to make your life easier, simpler, less painful. Some of them are financial, mechanical, silly science (but actually do something useful many times), and so on.
my favorite (have a feeling @ladybarbara might understand this) is using a grocery store paper bag to cook my Thanksgiving turkey in – stays juicy without having to baste.
@Fletch I have a big turkey roaster casserole dish and I use the Oven bag turkey sized. I am a big fan of all things from Rachael Ray and the fancy schmancy kitchen gadgets. I was kidding about the plastic grocery bag.
Quick dry super glue for cuts
Sugru to make or repair things
Pegboard for holding pistols
I have all kinds of metal working and carpentry hacks
Notepad++
Kindle books at faster than normal reading speed to finish more books in less time
My biggest life hack is definitely Google. Not sure if that qualifies, but Google gives me answers to nearly every question I ever have. That makes my life easier and more enjoyable. I love Google!!
I use a bunch of different apps on my phone that are really helpful.
I use washing soda to clean the stainless steel fixtures to remove any water spotting. It doesn’t damage the finish and keeps everything sparkly.
@mamajoy Some stainless steel appliances will look blotchy even after cleaning. After polishing wood furniture, use the residue of oils on the polishing cloth to rub the stainless steel with. All the blotches and scrub prints will disappear.
I have a worm farm. The postal carrier sometimes delivers my packages to our neighbor, by mistake. When I order new batches of 1000 live worms and the postal carrier delivers them to the wrong house, I can find my package by listening for the screams coming from the neighbor/recipiant’s house. Follow the sound of the screams and I found my box of live worms.
