I worship my wife
Mainly because she illustrates something that is better than me.
I worship my grandson
He is more of who I want to be than me.
I worship Nature.
I know I am small in comparison to the massiveness of it and I love that i
get to experience the beauty, as well as the sometimes aggression that
possess a certain kind of beauty as well.
I worship Thought
But in limited doses. For me it has to be finite, leading towards action.
Thought for the sake of thought makes me feel anxious.
I worship Appreciation
I think there are tangible benefits to gratitude. It might be the easiest way
to really enjoy this life we have. Being grateful reinforces the value of what
we are grateful for.
A second question; Are we actually created to worship? I use the word created more as the by product of existence although you can take it any way you like. As I look around, it seems to be in our nature to worship anything from marketed brands (including people) that express some form of value to God Itself.

To answer your 2nd question 1st, are we created for worship? I don’t think (believe) we were “created” at all, as there’s no evidence for it.
I may respect my friends and enjoy their company, but don’t worship them.
I may stand at awe of the natural universe, but don’t worship it.
I may really enjoy and hold a deep appreciation for art, but don’t worship it
I may desire money and wealth to make things easier, but easy come, easy go.
I may love and respect my parents more than myself, but i wouldn’t say that my relationship with them is one of worship.
@Jear77 As we have evolved; we’re a creation. As the sperm hit the ovum, you were in the process of being created. You started as a cell created by your mother that interacted with a swimmer that was created by your father. If you want to get hung up on convincing yourself that God in whatever form It exists as, doesn’t exist by the simplistic view requiring rational proof, then go on believing that OJ didn’t do it.
The question wasn’t; what do you not worship? It asks what you do. There is something. There has to be. At the moment my guess is that you worship negativity. That’s what your response says. Give it a try. Try and express something positive. You might enjoy it.
@spitfire3dc worship is such a loaded term. Enjoyment, respect, love, awe are all positive and affirming things. What’s negative about any of them? The *closest* thing I could even put the word worship to is having complete freedom to do that what which i please, when i please, how i please without having to worry about such things as money or a specific time frame to get things done.
There are so many things in life that I appreciate , but worship is a bit over the edge. I appreciate my alone time, but don’t worship it. I love having coffee in the mornings, but I can go without it, so the word “worship” is out of the question. I can’t think of one thing I worship. I value my relationship with Immortal Pirate, but if he wanted free of me….. well, it would not be the first break up in my life. When you love someone, you want them to be happy —- and if he cannot be happy with me, then I should hold him in an open hand, as one would hold a butterfly. One thing I have learned in life is that things can always be negotiated to work out. Life continues after a new negotiation —- so, to say that I worship our relationship is a bit too far. I cherish our relationship.
I guess, I worship God, but that is worship of the unknowable essence that no one can have full understanding and knowledge of. It is the wonder of wonders, the great mystery of mysteries. I would rather worship God, and after death, if I find out there is no God, well then, silly me. But if I find out there is a God, I won’t be disappointed in myself for not worshiping the unknowable essence that is God.
Do I worship? I would have to say YES, I worship GOD, the creator of the universe and all that it encompasses by His hand created. I accept the gift of salvation, freely given by Jesus Christ, by his shed blood for the remission of my sins. Out side of that, nothing created by man is not worthy of worship.

I think throughout my life, there were some people that I could probably say I worshiped. As of now, I can’t think of anything or anyone. Maybe I worship nothingness? Maybe superhero stuff? Maybe basically anything that keeps my mind off of reality?

I worship critical thinking. I do not believe we are created to worship. There is only the creative impulse and nothing else.
@Scarlett remove the baggage associated with the word meaning towards a specific deity.
Appreciation is what I’m getting at and I think maybe that is a foundational purpose. Just my opinion.
