I have recently been promoted at work. I work from home now. I am considered a remote office, and I complete quality assurance for Service Coordinators that work with low income families, low income seniors, and the disabled. I have never had a work from home job in my life, and it is certainly unusual. The sun wakes me up every day, now, but I miss seeing people. I do get to converse by phone or computer with people all over the U.S.

April is “birthday” month for both Immortal Pirate and I. It started with the last day of the renaissance festival, so we wanted to go one last time and take advantage of any sales. We both love the renaissance clothing. We purchased several items to dress up his Pirate outfits and to go with his kilt, for his Scottish theme. I bought him a Basket Hilt Highland Claymore —- It is a big bodacious sword !!! It has a baldrick (across the body belt) and sheath to carry it handsomely. As for me, I purchesed a skirt, skirt over skirts, and 2 dresses. Then I bought a really nice coat. Not to mention 2 corsets. Immortal Pirate bought me a really nice blouse to go with my skirt. We bought hats that are fun to wear, and some braid straps for our hair and his beard. This season we went to the Renaissance Festival 4 times and had a great time enjoying the festival until we were exhausted each time we went.
Congrats! I work from home occasionally. My kitty doesn’t make it easy as she tries to be in my lap or on my keyboard all day. That’s the work of angels you do.
What’s new in my life? The ring on my left hand! We finally got married!!! We did it on our 35th anniversary last month.

I appreciate how shotgun shacks are efficiently setup so you can open all the doors and get a breeze going through the whole thing.
I work from home as well.
Working from home can either go good or bad. What’s important is good audio, good video, and consistent internet. With good audio and video, you can have a decent meeting where people will be inclusive of you in the meetings even though you’re not physically in the office.
It’s also important that if you have other people in the house while you’re working from home that they honor the fact that you’re working and not able to do many things for them. If it becomes a “Can you take the garbage out.”, “Oil the door.”, “Help me with .”, and many other asks, then it can not only get distracting, but it can pull you away from your work and you could miss meetings or appointments and such.
There is a self discipline required for working at home. I’ve been doing it for quite a while. You can miss the social interaction that being in the office brings but on the plus side that can provide opportunities to be way more productive. I probably get 8 hours worth of value for two working from home. Plus no commuting which has so many benefits
Our newest thing is our pup Tucker. I think he’s close to about 5 months now, but he is the latest addition to the family.
