One or… more then a few… travels here, I have noticed that ‘honor’ is a currency type that human beings take very seriously.
As for me, I feel honored whenever anyone gives it (and where I truly deserve it).
Largely, I try and not be in a position to want honor from people, however, as their – our – honor does not have anywhere near the value of it from “the universe”. Ramp up the unseen, knowing the universe sees you — that is where the sweetest and strongest honor is.

I feel like honor is a construct, and I don’t really have need for it in the traditional sense.
