I feel like our ultimate failure will be all the bickering. You really can’t blame a side anymore. It is both sides and it keeps getting worse. We seem to be growing in our disdain for each other.
We can’t see the forest for the trees; we see the individual issues, yet we can’t see how they interconnect at a greater level. We can’t see the “big picture” because we’re too focused on the minutia.
@Scarlett2 the problem is that those who do see both, tend to mislabel what’s going on as either sin or god, when neither is applicable to the discussion at hand.
Society’s ultimate failure: Embracing socialism, as if it can solve all of societies ill, when history shows that socialism always ends in tyranny, oppression, and poverty.
Our saving grace: National Voter I.D. Laws that would prevent voter fraud and prevent the democrats from registering dead people and illegal aliens from voting in our elections.

@luftballooneyegouge You realize that I was only teasing…I use a garden hose during dry weather and let the rain do it’s thing when it actually rains here in Arizona. Our water is not fluoridated.

They went from shitty absolutist-authoritarian-socialism to continental You’re-ah-peein’ socialism and now they have very low unemployment (lowest in the EU), low poverty, universal healthcare, tuition-free universities, and a thriving economy.
They make quality, such as the CZ pistols, & they even have an official Pirate Party political party that’s their 3rd largest party with 22 seats in their parliament: Piratska Strana
@immortal_pirate hmmm, I disagree. It seems like we need to find some kind of middle ground. Do you find Trump bringing people together and uniting the people? Maybe there needs to be some balance somewhere. I’m not sure where. The problem could be one extreme or the other…
@luftballooneyegouge this technological age is a strange thing. For example I tend to gravitate towards a certain kind of people. I guess you could say I have a type when it comes to people. I don’t always find them close to me in physical proximity but I can find them scattered throughout the inter webs and get those needs met that way.
Maybe it is the same with sexual encounters for some! Maybe it could be like it was on the first episode of the Jetsons when they found Rosie, you could just order up what you want. I’m on the fence on whether we are more connected or disconnected….

Sounds like you aren’t paying attention to the record amount of mergers happening, aka consolidation. Sounds like you aren’t paying attention to the latest trend of CEOs making 300 times their average salaried employee, which is a drastic change. A wide spread of ownership counters consolidation. You point to absolutist-structures that only a very few are calling for.
First of all, anyone disagreeing with fair voter ID laws and being in favor of registering the names of long dead people and pretending that they voted Democrat is CHEATING the fair elections laws. Anyone harvesting votes among the non-citizens, undocumented illegal aliens, or paying for votes, is in favor of CHEATING. That doesn’t speak well of your character.
Anyone thinking that Socialism will work is delusional. The rich will find a way of protecting their money, or hiding it in off shore banks, making it untouchable for taxation and distribution to the poor and unwashed masses. The working masses will see that their hard earned money is going to feed the poor, who choose not to work. Soon the workers will give in and quit working and become one of the growing mass of non-workers. There will not be grocery stores, but instead lines that people have to stand in to receive meager government hand-outs. People will stop working in order to have the hours it takes to get through the food lines. Less and less workers, more and more poor people, less revenue coming in, less to be distributed, and people will have to eat their pets. Then, people will be eating the zoo animals and starving in the streets. It is hard to believe that you prefer that for America. You must really hate the American lifestyle.
Meanwhile, the rich will still be rich and keeping their riches safely away from the taxation you think they will donate to.
Socialism will not work. You will figure it out someday while standing in a line for 7 hours a day just to be handed 2 potatoes for your daily rations. I have been there while trying to survive in Russia for 3 months. After seeing Socialism in action, I will do all in my power to not have Socialism happen in America.

@Jear77 true, we are studying about this in my social work classes right now. it seems like most people want to focus on case over cause.
