Been there, done that, but I’ll deny it…that’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it…and you can’t prove otherwise.
258,000+ years…Idle hands truly are the devils playground, what one does to avoid boredom has definite consequences…
They are all either indicators of a right, a power, a freedom . . . or else represent a lesson I wouldn’t want to forget or something that has to be done for my little corner of the greater whole to be . . . whole.
There’s times I might fancy putting them down for a season. But they happen as part of adult life. So it’s better to find a life philosophy that doesn’t always have me trying to wish away something that is going to be despite my trying to wish it away!
But if I was going to try such an exercise, I would wish away the responsibilities that come with the new e-logs required in the US. They’re extra work and bother, extra stress in an already stressful job, and in too many ways accomplish the exact opposite of what they intend.
@yin I think there are things you do because you want/ need to to but are still responsibilities. For instance, I think you don’t want to give up the responsibility of feeding and caring for your own hygiene… otherwise you’d be an infant.
@Jear77 In this world, very true. I was mainly talking about in general. Remove the responsibility and the need. I’m not sure there are any responsibilities where I wish I actually had them. Like, I have a dog now and I do love her and animals in general, but I’m probably never going to try to get another one again unless maybe I end up with someone who does and wants that themselves. I’d just rather not deal with extra responsibility and the inevitable pain of losing them.
@Jear77 That’s unfortunate you can’t have one now. They are pretty awesome. Just, personally, I’m just tired with that kind of responsibility. They are pretty fantastic if you are fine with the responsibility.
@yin I’ve had dogs all my life. It’s… lonely… stressful without one. I know i have my friend as a person to talk to, but you can’t pet a person – and neither would I want to!

That’s a hard one.

Think of all the extra time you’d have. In the future we’ll go in electric generating diapers that power our robotic limbs & backpack refrigerators.
