I think it is the screen time. I think it will change our emotional/mental makeup to such a high degree that it will cripple already frail relationships we have with each other. It is a known fact that social media has links to depression. People see what people post on their accounts as reality, and wonder why they don’t look the way the people on the screen do, or have the best vacations, families etc. It is like their are several different realities and then there is a base reality. People get lost in the multiple realities and it impacts their thinking/mood.

Social media is just a comic book for adults. The people that base their lives on how many “likes” they get on social media are just shallow people. It seems as though if it weren’t for social media, they’d have no life at all…how truly sad.
I can tell when Immortal Pirate likes something I do, or say, because he looks up from his screen.
We use our screen time to meet other people and be entertained. We even use it as a talking point when all other conversation lags. After all, we are with each other 7/24 and you cannot fill all that time with idle chit chat. Most of my facebook contacts are people I know in real life. I know who and how they are. I know how they live. No one puts on airs and no one can be fake. My family that goes on vacation will vacation just 2 hour’s drive from us and we are always welcomed to join them and relax by the river.
I don’t think it is screens.
Vaping seems to be dangerous if your vape thingy is placed in your pocket with your battery powered car key and your pocket change. Something will short out and set your pocket on fire. I was standing and talking to a friend and suddenly he burst into flames. His vape thingy exploded.
