Any movie or TV program where everyone starts fighting and shooting guns at everyone else. I cannot keep track of who is who, good guys from bad guys. I end up closing my mind and phasing out of it — turning off. If it is on TV, I simply give Immortal Pirate “the look” and I leave the room and find something else to do.
Life does not have to be lived in such a way that everyone starts mortal combat with everyone else.
As I told Immortal Pirate tonight, —- If I had been a Liberal, I would change to the Republican party right now. I would not want to be affiliated with a group that is beating up on anyone who doesn’t agree with them. Then Antifa says they stand for peace, love, and tolerance, but they are beating people with clubs and sticks, turning over police cars, breaking windows, setting fires, and showing that they are insane with HATE!!! I don’t want to be around people who are insane like that. That is a turn-off. I close my mind and realize that the only thing I can do about it is to vote Republican on election day.
Then I sit back and listen to the insanity coming from the left and watch as they eat their own faces off ——- making others turn away from them.
@ladybarbara Do you think some of this is passive aggressive behavior? Attacking liberals in a post that has nothing to do with liberals?
In any case, I think there has been violence on both sides of the aisle. I think there is mental illness on both sides of the aisle. Neither is unique for that. There is good and bad in all walks of life.

I have not seen conservatives pulling down statues, setting fires, rioting, setting police cars on fire, breaking shop windows, or beating people with sticks and clubs. I have seen conservatives hit to defend themselves when hit with sticks and clubs. It is a natural reaction to punch the attacker in the throat and take his stick away. I see all of this on TV news —– so it does have everything to do with the post.
Westerns, because I just never got into any cowboy related stuff other than the video game Red Dead Redemption.
Most movies where animals die, because I just get either sick, angry, or depressed. Like, I like some sad movies and shows, but that is a different kind of depressing.
Maybe one could convince me to watch horror movies, but I just really don’t want to. Only one I recall actually wanting to was See No Evil only because Kane from WWE was in it. Not quite sure the reason. Maybe just not likely the gore or seeing people in that kind of pain. Video games are different since it is totally computer animated while movies are real people with some special effects. I don’t get grossed out with gore, but there is a bit more empathy connection there.
Tend to not like watching war movies. There are some good stories in some, but I just hate the setting and stuff.
Nearly every movie made earlier than the 90’s. Just before my time and they just don’t seem great. The look of them, some of the acting, the special effects, the story and character elements.
I watched a 007 movie once with the newest Bond. Yep, I can do without those. Never liked the character.
@yin I was never a bond fan, either! Maybe you have a very empathic personality and that’s why you can’t get into some of that stuff.
I have noticed that with books if it is a difficult subject matter that I’m not familiar with I have a strong resistance. I don’t think this is a good thing.
@Scarlett I may. Like how the second episode of the first season of Black Mirror messed me up. It isn’t gory or anything like that, but it was damn disturbing to me. I mean, that show had a lot of messed up and disturbing stuff, but that one in particular got to me.
I refuse to watch CNN, NBC, CBS, ABC, MSNBC…all fake news. It’s all leftist propaganda.
I don’t watch situation comedy television shows because they too are leftist propaganda and immature social situations that have no baring on or basis in reality. Hell, reality t.v. isn’t even reality. It’s all staged and choreographed to present a one sided desired out come.
I don’t watch horror movies. I have no desire to watch Freddy Kruger slash his way through a group of teenagers, or zombies eating flesh from the bodies of people that have the ability to defend them selves but choose to be victims because they’re too stupid to pick up a shotgun and blow off the heads of the zombies.
I don’t watch porn as much as I did when I was younger. There is only so much moaning, groaning , grunting, and bodily fluid exchange one can watch before it all just seems like a waste of time and energy. Like the old saying goes, “Once you’ve seen one set of tits, you’ve seen them all”, well, sort of…they come in all shape, sizes, and colors, but I digress.
Books…There are books I avoid and others I would one day venture to read. There are books I still need to write…someday.
I refuse to watch anything made by or starring Mel Gibson because he is gross in so many ways. He has never apologized for saying horrible things about gay people in the 80s. I know, many people said horrible things about gay people in the 80s, but many of those people evolved and changed their tune, made an apology, made amends with my community. Not this pig of a man. I don’t care how great he acts or directs. Gibson will get no dime from me.
I also will never read the bible, or anything written by L. Ron Hubbard.
