When;s the ast time a mundane task took on new meaning?
Today the basement apartment was flooded due to excessive amounts of rain. My friend heard water running but I thought nothing of it, as the dishwasher was running.
@ladybarbara it was coming BENEATH the stair. There’s a raised kitchen area. I was cleaning for the last several hours. And even being on my hands and knees, it STILL need more cleaning
The last time??? It was when clearing out a spot for my vegetable garden. I thought the few pieces of wood and poles were all there was to it. Then I found the wood foundation of an old Pirate Ship that was used for something. Then a lot of PVC pipes and wood that was half buried. It became a larger job than I figured it would be. Immortal Pirate had a story for each bit of scrap that I found. I guess his family life has been full of constructed fun for many years. As we unscrewed what seemed like a thousand screws from the foundation of the old Pirate Ship, Immortal Pirate told of family adventures happening in Halloweens past and back yard festivities. This must have been a fun family that his kids grew up in. It made me understand why — when Immortal Pirate announced to his adult children that he was going to build a Pirate Ship for the dining room that was going to fill the whole room —- both of them said, “Cool, Dad!” They did not say it was an insane idea. They take it for granted that Dad is going to build something fun for the imagination.
Well, pulling all of the fun adventures from the past out of the dirt was a hard job and dismantling everything, so I could run the wood through my wood chipper, was a bigger job than I was ready to handle in the hot sun.

What made the apartment flood? Where was the water coming from?

@Jear77 Is it a leak in a pipe ?
@ladybarbara no. Sewer from too much rain. I guess water comes through the path of least resistance.
