i would say, of the two, that apologizing for nothing is worse, because it implies something is there to apologize for. apologizing for everything doesnt really seem right, unless literally everything warrants an apology.

Who guilted you as a child for not yet being fully realized?
I was a curious and precocious child who often tried to understand and perform beyond my maturity level. (It didn’t help that I had to be my mother’s caretaker at a very young age).
Many loving adults took me aside and reminded me that I was still just a child.
I don’t believe a single one was trying to guilt me.

But you are right it is impossible if we have the wrong god. Namely, the god of our own ego feelings and understanding.
