The vid doesn’t purpose or intend to take one side or other other of the gun issue. It just highlights the radical change that overcame the main player in the debate in May of 1977 when Knox and Carter used loopholes in the NRA charter to hijack a meeting, take over and in rapid fashion kick out all of the duly-established leadership.
At which point they sought to re-make the organization based on a lot of “need to deceive”.

The NRA is now bad for gun owners because they aren’t aggressive enough in defending the rights of gun owners.
They supported anti-gun legislation in 1968 and 1986. Now they’re supporting more anti-gun legislation.
Like I said in another thread, the only pro-gun organizations I support are the GOA and the JPFO.

They’ve been ludicrously successful in expanding the rights of gun owners even unto silencing Public Safety Research just out of the fear that it MIGHT prove problematic for the religious ideology.

Uhm, no. Not a single gun right has been expanded. All gun rights have been decreasing, actually. The American people used to be able to carry machine guns, short barreled guns, and carry concealed. Then all kinds of laws banned all that, even with the NRA around. Then Concealed Carry was a “restored right”, that varies from state to state.
For you to say that the NRA has been successful in expanding the rights of gun owners is just not correct. Unless you have some examples of gun rights that have been expanded, then I’m all ears.

There are many stories in the media about CDC researchers being intimidated and threatened if they dare study anything relating to gun control.
