Would you rather not hear, speak, or see evil?

If you were to get rid of an evil, which one would be the most beneficial? And why?

  1. I would rather not have trolls messing up the site.

Evil happens in life. Not everything can be pretty and shiny. Bad things happen. I would rather keep it real. If bad news is coming, then I want to know what is coming. I want to be able to prepare. If I am prepared for the worst and it doesn’t happen — then yay, it did not happen. If it does happen, then I was prepared.

  3. I would rather not speak evil. To not hear or see it would be to not be able to fully recognize the implications of evil.

One evil I would get rid of is organized religion. I truly believe religion has caused the most damage in history and continues to today. From wars, to unnecessary medical procedures, to the blatant overlook of human civil liberties.

    1. I agree about religion, but our society is so F-ed up that I have had to use religion as an excuse to maintain personal freedom. The government can’t touch religion, or at least they won’t. They’ll piss on freedom though or personal choice for its own sake.

  4. I’m going to maybe misinterpret how you want the response, but the way I see it. I can’t create evil by hearing or seeing. So I choose speak no evil. I want the things I do to be positive and the mouth is generally the biggest culprit.

  5. “Evil” is a function of Humanity: of our freedom to choose. My choice is to work to limit the evil I choose to visit upon the world.

Not seeing or hearing it? Other than intentionally blinding or deafening myself, this would be limiting the same choice in other that I cherish for myself.
Someone choosing to say or do evil is telling you something about themselves. And how often have you heard that one of the biggest problems in the world is that people don’t listen to what others are saying?

  6. Not hearing it would be easy. I can make up my own evil and spout it out to others. I don’t need to know what I am saying, so long as it is having the right affect on others.

  7. I would rather not speak evil…it exists and I will see and hear of it regardless but I control my words and i do my best to make sure no “evil” (negativity) comes from it.
